The goal of the Take a Girl Child to Work Day is a MBSA initiative that aims to “deepen the thinking of the girl child with regard to their infinite roles in society, enhance her self-esteem, inspire and motivate her to reach her full potential and through exposure to diverse careers. Employees from our Sponsors volunteer to be positive role models in assisting the girl child to prepare for the world of work.
This initiative targets learners in Grades 10 to 12 and it’s an annual programme. The Take a Child to Work Day recognises the need to provide children with the right opportunities to help them make informed decisions and to experience some sense of empowerment in the decisions that they make.
Over the years the Take a Girl Child to Work initiative has opened the doors of learning beyond the classroom, encouraging girls to strive for excellence, face their fears and embrace ambition. This initiative has had a powerful impact on the lives of more than a million girls, preparing a core of future women leaders who will be vibrant contributors to the economy and leading job creators for our country.
