Cosmo/Lanseria/Diepsloot STEP project schools

The UBS Cosmo/Lanseria/Diepsloot STEP project schools performed well achieving an overall pass rate of 95,22% from 95,16% surpassing both national 76,4% and provincial 82,8%pass rates in 2021. This cohort had to contend with several obstacles from covid-19, loadshedding and a loss of school days.

Sunrise Secondary increased their performance by 3,7% and Diepsloot 3 Sec noted a slight decline of 1,3%, our new school replacing St Ansgars, both schools top performed with a commendable 98,7%. Diepsloot Combined are at a commanding third in our supported schools attaining 98,3% an increase of 2,3%. Kwena Molapo Comprehensive School was the second most improved performance by 3% achieving a pleasant 97,2%. Blue Eagle Sec at number five with 83,3% from 90,6% in 2020. All the schools performed well above 80% outperforming both the national and provincial peers.

Mathematics

All schools improved in Mathematics with Sunrise increasing the greatest by 48% for 2021 to 91,7%. The performances are above both provincial and national performance rate at 68,2% and 57,6% respectively.

Physical Sciences

Performance in Physical Science was very strong ranging from 87,1% at Blue Eagle to as high as 100% by Sunrise Secondary, Kwena Molapo and Diepsloot Combined landing the project schools at 95% evidently more than the provincial and national rates of 73,5% and 69,0%.

Accounting

In Accounting they performed well too. Sunrise and Diepsloot Combined attaining 100% and the two other schools above 90%, a decline for Blue Eagle of 1,2% from 2020 and Kwena Molapo underperforming by 8%. These performances are all above provincial (81,9%) and national (74,7%).
