Tshwane West and South STEP schools managed to slightly improve the Mathematicsaverage year on year from by 3,6% to 70,8% in 2024. This increase is due to Saulridge Secondary School achieving 94%%, while Mapenane Secondary School stands at 89%, Flavius Mareka Secondary School managed 85% and followed by Hofmeyer Secondary School with 70% this marks the top performing school in the subject. The remainder of our schools namely Edward Pathudi Secondary School, S.O.S, Phelindaba Secondary School, S.O.S did not do well with 55% and 53% respectively.
It must be noted that Mathematics performances in our schools has been gradually increasing over the years presentation a tangible impact the MBSA STEP project is having throughout the project schools.
Saulridge Secondary School once more was the best performing school in the Physical Sciences. The school topped the MBSA Tshwane Schools with a resounding 97,1%, Flavius Mareka Secondary School was second at 88%. Mapenane Secondary School managed 85% and Dh Peta Secondary School is at number 3 with 79%. Modiri Secondary School is steadily increasing their performance to 77%, Hofmeyer Secondary School too did not fair well but are at 65% followed by both Edward Phatudi Secondary School SoS, at 58% together with Phelindaba Secondary School with 50%.
Saulridge Secondary School reflects the correlation in performance for Mathematics and Physical Sciences. The school topped the MBSA Tshwane Schools with a resounding 97,1% rising from 84,8% noting a 12,3% increase. Mapenane Secondary School and Hofmeyer Secondary School both attained above 90% at 92,9% and 91,7% respectively. Dh Peta Secondary, Modiri Secondary School and Edward Phatudi SoS too managed to remain in the 70%s.
In Accounting, Modiri Secondary School attained 100%, Hofmeyer Secondary School managed to attain 94% from 90%, Flavius Mareke Secondary School at 87%. Saulridge Secondary School once more increased in all the supported subjects in accounting achieving 83%. Edward Phatudi Secondary School was at 81% while Mapenane Secondary School performed at 64%. The rest of the schools namely Phelindaba Secondary School and DH Peta Secondary School performed over 50%
Gauteng province performed at 88,4% a marginal increase of about 3% from the previous year’s 82,86%.
Funda Afrika is pleased on the performance progression in the supported subjects which are all at 70% and above. This is evident of the efforts from MBSA, Department of Education and Funda Afrika partners for the success of many of our programs.
